So for over 20yrs I've had this desire to become a florist. You're probably thinking "Girl why so long, it's Floral Design not Rocket Science!!" Haha, honestly when I was in my early twenties I looked into Floral Design School and was intimidated by the cost. It was a bit pricey for a young newlywed who desired to start a foofy career in floral design when in reality I just need a job, a J.O.B as my mom would describe it... LOL! So I decided to retire from being a pre-school teacher to open a small gift boutique in Pomona CA. I met a young artistic couple who opened a flower shop right next to my boutique. We were both young and ambitious and determined to grow our creative businesses! I ended up closing my business and decided to start a career in retail (my other passion). My neighbors Ricardo and Erin Delgado continued to build a lucrative business in floral design and now 20yrs later, the top Florist in the greater Southern CA area. Although I've followed their career, I never stopped longing for a chance to flex my own floral design wanderlust. Fast forward to today my dreams are starting to come true and there only getting dreamier...lol.
I've had this idea of merging my passion for floral design and my passion for fashion together to form a boutique filled with floral whimsy and free spirit fashion. Lately I've been excited to see a whole new way of introducing floral
into the world of fashion. Hi-end and indie boutiques have been adding floral services, pop-ups and workshops to their repertoire over the past year and I'm loving every Pinterest-worthy minute of it!!
This past February, I hosted a Valentines themed Floral Workshop, I invited my friend who is also an aspiring florist, sent out invites and to my surprised was overwhelmed with a sold out event. Recently I decided to officially expand our business to include Floral Design services, We launch R,Haus Blooms with an In-Store Pop-up Shop that was a complete success. I've also completed my first paid event (pics to come) and have two more floral design gigs in the works. Let's just say i'm loving the combination of the two categories. Flowers are no longer reserved just for weddings, funerals and Mother's Day! Workshops are not just fun but therapeutic much like retail therapy, it evokes an emotion that provides a sense of calm, creativity and pure joy!! I say YES, YES, YES to all of it. Below I pulled a little inspo from our Robinson Haus Pinterest board here. Enjoy.
P.S We just added two exciting workshops to our site sign-up here and join us this Fall for a little floral and fashion fun.
